Eliminate boundaries

With Mixed and Virtual Reality

Hololens

What is the Hololens?

The Hololens is a holographic computer built into a transparent headset that allows you to both see, and interact with virtual holograms placed in your environment. Multiple cameras and sensors on its front dynamically scan the space you occupy. This Augmented Reality unit takes over a defined portion of your field of view, but not all of it. You are still IN your environment, with holographic elements augmented into it. This eliminates any worry of feeling dizzy or disoriented.

How can it be used for real estate and architecture?

The Hololens provides an untethered experience, completely self contained with the processing power built into it. No need to worry about tripping over wires with this device.
Imagine swiping floorplans onto a wall, whilst interacting with the views from the balcony of a suite you’ve selected on another wall. Peer over the balcony, look left, look right. Examine a holographic building model, place it on a surface, walk around it. There are endless scenarios to explore with the Hololens.

Why should we use it?

The Hololens is not a perspective, it is an experience. It allows for unrestricted movement, conversation and eye contact with others in your real world environment, whilst also experiencing and engaging with an augmented one. You are simultaneously interacting with virtual information as well as real world information. This is a truly comfortable experience, and Designstor is one of the first players in the real estate and development market with the technology to use it.

HTC Vive

What is the HTC Vive?

A full Virtual Reality experience, powered by a high processing computer, this tethered headset provides a completely immersive experience into a virtual environment.
Using two sensors installed in the space you are occupying, the Vive tracks you with accuracy and precision, reducing the sense of nausea and disorientation felt in other lower-end VR devices. With the Vive, the user has the ability to walk through and investigate a virtual space.

How can it be used for real estate and architecture?

The Vive can be used as a guided tour of a proposed space from within a sales centre. Through Designstor’s innovative development, the user can be directed to interact with aspects of the Virtual environment from an I-pad or screen by an external user. Boundaries can be set to feature specific areas that you would like the user to explore further. “Teleportation” can be used to travel within the virtual environment at the click of a button.

Why should we use it?

How many times have you heard your clients say they can’t tell what a space is like by simply looking at the floorplan? The fact is, buyers need more than two, or even three dimensional ways of exploring a potential space. The Vive generates the feeling of a space, with scale and accuracy second to none, acting on the cutting edge of how people will interact with their environments in the future.
